Happy Valentine’s Day!
By now, you’ve probably heard about The 5 Love Languages, the best selling book by Gary Chapman. If you haven’t read the book, no need to worry because you and your mate can determine your love language by completing an online quiz. Knowing each other’s Love Languages gives you insight into how you both express and receive love. The 5 Love Languages are:
- Acts of Service
- Receiving Gifts
- Words of Affirmation
- Physical Touch
- Quality Time
Personally, I most identify with Acts of Service and Receiving Gifts. And while it might seem strange, my heart skips a beat when Nancy helps wash the dishes, does a quick load of laundry, or helps me Konmari my closet and throw clothes away. It makes me feel special knowing she’s willing to help complete chores with me and for me.
It also makes me feel special when she surprises me with gifts. And my gift for Valentine’s Day was epic because she surprised me with tickets to Disney FROZEN the musical on Broadway!
I love Disney musicals and I love the theater. I’d never been so close to the orchestra and the stage and I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing show! The sets, the dance numbers, and obviously we can’t forget all the songs from the movie! If you are traveling to NYC and hoping to catch a show on Broadway, I’d definitely recommend FROZEN. I also love a night out exploring New York City in new ways.
We turned the evening into a mini-staycation eating at a restaurant we’d never tried before and staying in a hotel in the Financial District near the World Trade Center. You don’t always have to travel far to experience exciting new adventures. And while we love traveling together, receiving a thoughtful and heartfelt gift spoke to me in my love language.
